Chengdu is one of the first authorized historical and cultural cities and one of the best tourist cities in China. It has a rich cultural heritage and a beautiful natural landscape. At the same time, Chengdu is also a city that advocates sports and leisure. From “National Central City” to “International Gateway Hub City” to “World City”, keeping pace with the new era, Chengdu has been developing a three-step development of the strategic objectives and has proposed building Cultural Creation City of the World, Famous Tourist City of the World, Iconic Sports City of the World, and International Food Capital, International Music Capital and International Convention & Exhibition Capital, marching towards a sustainable world city.
The marathon is not only a platform for communication and participation for runners in western China, but also aims to become the most influential, extensive, popular and representative marathon in western China. The event is dedicated to being organized in accordance with the “Double-Gold” standard of Chinese Athletic Association and International Association of Athletics Federations with the future mission to accelerate the completion of building the “Iconic Sports City of the World”.
Compared with last year, this track of this year is completely upgraded — Jinsha Site Museum, Qintai Road，Hejiang Pavilio，Anshun Bridge, Jiuyanqiao Bridge，Sichuan University，Wangjianglou Park，Donghu Park，Tianfu International Financial Center，Chengdu Performing Arts Center，Global Center，China-Europe Center, Tianfu Green Road Guixi Ecological Park,Century City，New International Convention and Exhibition Center, which means running from the splendid ancient civilization of Chengdu to a brand-new era.
In addition, this year, the track has another feature, that is, Tianfu Green Road accounts for about one-third of the track. At present, Chengdu is vigorously promoting the construction of the Tianfu Green Road and the total length of nearly 17,000 kilometers of the road is gradually being presented. Tianfu Green Road is one of the key measures to accelerate the construction of a beautiful and livable park city in Chengdu. It is making every effort to create a layout of the integration of “culture, business, travel and sport”. This time, the event is a positive attempt to activate the development momentum of Tianfu Green Road Industry.
