Neuron pivots around a United States Air Force officer named Henry Lawrence who suffers from debilitating headaches. He’s forced into the position of of JAG after a terrible crash caused by his headaches and vision disorder, and while reporting for duty one day, he collapses. After being rushed to the hospital, a mass is discovered, and after the mass is surgically removed, Henry discovers that he has telekinetic powers.
After he recovers, Henry decides to use his powers to fight crime, and soon, he crosses paths with the cryptic Leviathan Society. He also meets a witch named Magda, and they join forces to stop the Leviathan Society.
Writer Matthew John-Lawrence Culley and artist Delacey-James Foster have announced the launch of a Kickstarter campaign that will aim to raise $6,000 to create and promote the first two issues of Neuron.
Until January 2, 2019, backers have the opportunity to pledge to the Neuron Kickstarter campaign. Backers will receive exciting perks, such as signed hard copies of Neuron, promo art postcards, limited editions t-shirts, and even limited edition alternate covers.
According to Culley, “Neuron was conceived by me after my personal experience with a congenital disability known as Rathke’s Cleft Cyst.”
In 2017, he was hospitalized due to headaches, vision issues, and nausea; emergency brain surgery was performed. The cyst came back, requiring another surgery and chemo. “This experience has profoundly changed my life for the better, and it was the primary inspiration for this comic,” said Culley.
