Cherrystone Auctions has successfully concluded its January 8-9, 2019 public stamp sale of U.S. and Worldwide Stamps & Postal History. The company realized satisfactory prices for all the 1,678 lots featured in the live public stamp auction.

NEW YORK CITY, New York – Mar 7, 2019 – Cherrystone Auctions has published all the prices realized in its January 8-9, 2019 public stamp sale. According to the listed prices, the company hosted a very successful live auction of U.S. and Worldwide Stamps & Postal History.

Cherrystone Auctions hosted a very successful live public auction on January 8-9, 2019. The success of this public auction is evidenced by the high prices realized by all the 1,678 lots featured in the auction. The live stamp sale of U.S. and Worldwide Stamps & Postal History was held in the company’s New York City galleries.

The highest earning lot was an 1869 United States 30c ultramarine & carmine, Flags Inverted, segmented cork cancel, with 2004 PFC. The beautiful, completely sound example of the 30c Invert fetched $75,000. All the prices realized during Cherrystone’s live stamp auction has now published on its website.

Also at the auction, an 1859 (12 Dec) outer FL from Messina to Genova was auctioned for $28,000. Another Italian rarity — an 1863-65 40c rose carmine block of four — fetched $23,000. An 1866 complete set of five cross-gutter sheets of 100 from Russia was also sold for $23,000. And a 1941 50L-25d, set of seven Italian World War II occupation issues also hit the $23,000 mark. Many other lots were auctioned for several thousand dollars. And the rest fetched several hundred dollars. All the featured 1,678 lots were sold during the auction. Cherrystone Auctions  is now preparing its third public stamp sale this year on March 12-13, 2019.
