ELK GROVE, Calif. – September 13, 2019 – Elk Grove Unified School District’s Purchasing and Warehouse Department was humbled and extremely enthused with the news that they have been awarded the prestigious 24th Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) for 2019 from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI). The AEP Award is earned by public and non-profit agencies that demonstrate a commitment to procurement excellence. This annual program recognizes procurement organizations that embrace innovation, professionalism, productivity, leadership and e-Procurement.

The AEP program encourages the development of excellence as well as continued organizational improvement to earn the award annually. The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) is one of only 46 agencies in California and one of only 23 school districts in the United States and Canada to receive the award. In addition, EGUSD is only one of five California K-12 school districts to earn the award since 1996.

Deputy Superintendent, Robert Pierce, expressed his pride saying, “We have an outstanding purchasing and warehouse team and being acknowledged with this outstanding accolade validates their diligence, professionalism and hard work. The level of responsibility and logistics of managing the purchasing operations for California’s 5th largest school district is an extraordinary task. The work of the department in supporting our schools and preparing every student to be college, career and life ready is critical and should not go unnoticed. Our purchasing and warehouse team consistently offers exceptional service and they always look for ways to improve services for our students.”
