April Hernandez-Castillo to Be Honored With 2020 Skyline Performer LifeTime Achievement Award

1st Annual Accolade to be Presented During the Skyline Performer Awards.

Brooklyn, NY, USA – July 31, 2020 – April Hernandez-Castillo – actress, author, producer and speaker – has been named the 1st recipient of Skyline Performer Awards highest tribute: The Lifetime Achievement Award for her career achievement and her motivational and inspirational speaker role. Hernandez-Castillo will be presented the performers top accolade at the 1st Annual Skyline Performer Awards, which due to COVID-19 will now be shown on YouTube on Friday, Oct 16, 2020 at 8 p.m. (ET), 7 p.m. (CT), 6 p.m. (MT) and 5 p.m. (PT).

The Skyline Performer LifeTime Achievement Award will be given annually to an actor who has demonstrated versatility as an entertainer and has used their platforms to expand positivity and has share humanitarian with the world. Hernandez-Castillo received a SAG Award nomination for her role as Officer Cira Manson in Showtime’s award-winning drama Dexter (2010).

A Lasting Impact Through Stage, Film and Television

Hernandez-Castillo debuted on stage at the famous New York Comedy Club in NYC as a stand-up comedienne. She expanded her stage experience to television where she got her first acting break in a 2004 Super Bowl Visa Check Card national commercial. Then came major television shows such as ER, Law & Order and 30 Rock.

Hernandez-Castillo breakthrough role was in the 2007 film Freedom Writer, where she played the role of Eva Benitez, based on real life high school student Maria Reyes. She worked alongside Academy Award-winner Hilary Swank, this film put her in the ranks of some of the biggest names in the industry.

Hernandez-Castillo incredible films includes roles in Big Wes, Broken, The History of Future Folk, Officer Down, The Stockroom along with Television Shows such as ER, Jony Zero, Law & Order, Nurse Jackie, Dexter, Elementary, Feed the Beast, and New Amsterdam.
